Houses Establishment

The House wise divisional concept that was introduced to BCAS very recently, it combines all the different departments, together to create four houses each consisting of roughly 200 students below I have included the formula and the House Number, Colors and their Name, including the IPO Pronunciations
 House Assignment Formula
 Your IDs are create based on the following format :-<< Department Abbreviation>>/<<Last Digits of the Year of Registration>>/<<Batch Number>>/<<Incrementing Student ID>>
 If you take an ID such as HN/05/16/29 It means
  1. HND IT
  2. 2005 Year
  3. 16th Batch
  4. 29th Student
Now to assign yourself to houses, we divide this last two digits by 4 and take the Remainder, a mathematical term know as Modulus (%) [Remainder] so 29%4 = 1 based on that remainder you would be assigned to your respective houses, as I’ve heard this formula has been given to all the administrative department, So all you got do is go and ask your respective admin departments.
HN/05/16/29 = 29 = 29%4 [Remainder] = 1 = Vikings [Green]
House Terminology
Your House are decide based on the above mentioned remainder number here is what the numbers mean
0 = Gladiators = AKA Red House = [Say Glad-Ee-Ate-tors]
1 = Vikings = AKA Green House = [Say Y-Kings not V-King]
2 = Samurais = AKA Yellow House = [Say Sa-mo-Raies]
3 = Knights = AKA Blue House = [Say Nights (K is Silent)]
I would like to ask all to use the Official Names because, i chat with some of you and they use colors as the names of the house, but there are much cooler names :) Also the house you’re assigned to is based on the currently active Student ID [not ones that you had before you switched a stream, also not ones you had in past registrations for BCAS]
 Windows 7 Calculator
You can use the Windows 7 Calculator to find the remainder of your Last Two Digits of your Student ID, here in the below picture the Calculator is in Scientific Mode, with History Enable for better view
Each house has their own group and later maybe they will have their own page, once a few years pass by, and also if we knew magic we got get sorting hat too :), I encourage students to go-forth find thy house assign thy self-join and have fun, or ask your Admin Department got your house, but confirm it using the formula, after all it is Course Lifetime Choice

Chairman's Meeting with the Batch Reps

It was normal day in BCAS before the chairman and some of the boardmembers decided to have spontanious meeting about the proceedings of the fun week.

The coordinatiors of each stream and department would have had to have a masive campaigene to organzize the students into one meeting within the given 4 hour window. almost every stream was being represented except Telecommuncation Engineering and another stream could not be present during the events.
Although during the event the chairman mentioned that another meeting would have be held to update those students who didnot attend, about the proceedings of the event.
The reasons the event was organized was to get the views of the student about the format of the fun fieasta and the timeing constrain.

Meetings, Meetings oh and I forgot to mention Meetings!!:)

Their have been many meetings amongst some of the executive members of the student council, over the past weeks, to coordinate the massive event known initally, as Fun Week then later changed to Fun Fieasta.
Some members could not be contacted in time becuase they have classes/prior arrangments, therefore we have decided to limit the attending members to the the affected scope of the meeting.

An e.g. if the Movie Week needs to be discuessed then it is only crucial that the President, Secretary and the Entertainment Sub-Commitee should attend the meeting anyone else would be optional but are still allowed to attend. the reason for implementing such concept is so that members donot waste their time & resources attending meetings that they donot have input or get affected by.

There 7 Planned Movies held for seven days and the students were given popcorn for 5 Rs the first day and then 20 Rs then on.
